Now that the new year is passed, I've already jumped into the convention mindset.
For those of you who have been here a while, you know that I do a lot of Artist Alley stuff, well, this year that's kind of changing. DON'T BE AFRAID!
I'm actually taking this year "off" from my usual conventions, and actually visiting them for once - you know, getting reacquainted with the customer base, see what's happening at shows, and probably giving some panels in between. I do this every handful of years for a couple of reasons:
A.) I can have a small "vacation", but still get to enjoy the shows (and I usually end up helping friends while I'm out there)
B.) Redo parts of the booth - come back refreshed and ready to go the next season!
So this year you'll be seeing me walk around shows a lot more. I'm planning on making costumes for both Dave (Aris) and I to wear together at shows, now that I'm not connected to a booth for 2/3rds of the day.
The next "convention" coming up is one called "Washi Con" (https://www.facebook.com/washicon), and it's only for one day - January 23. It's a local-ish show for me, so instead of doing the artist alley thing, I chose to go and visit, give them some attendees (and probably buy some art, knowing me :P).
I'm still deciding what we're going to wear (No, we're not bringing armor this time. IT'S COLD OUTSIDE OMG, and it makes the armor sound crackly when we put it on.), we've got some nice closet-cosplay ideas that should be fun. I'll keep you updated! :)
